About Portiko

Working tools
for healthcare’s
most under-tooled
professionals.

Portiko publishes practice systems for the operational realities of UK healthcare. CESR evidence preparation, CQC compliance tracking, clinical documentation, credentialing — the working artefacts that healthcare professionals need to do their jobs and that almost nobody is making well.

Most healthcare software is built either by people who don’t understand the work (which produces beautiful interfaces with no clinical credibility) or by clinicians who don’t prioritise design and craft (which produces credible work that nobody can read or use). Portiko’s opportunity sits in the small overlap — tools that are clinically authentic and genuinely well-made.

We don’t claim to revolutionise anything. UK healthcare has plenty of revolutionaries, most of whom underestimate how the existing system actually works. What we do is ship specific operational tools that solve specific operational problems, well, for people who already work hard enough.

A — Operating principles

Four principles that shape every product.

  1. Built by people who have done the work

Every product is built by clinicians or by people who have spent years embedded in clinical environments. Where domain expertise sits outside our team, we bring it in as paid review — not as marketing copy. We don’t produce software for sectors we don’t understand from the inside.

  2. Compliant by default

UK GDPR, NHS DSP Toolkit, MHRA Software-as-a-Medical-Device positioning, current GMC guidance on AI use. Compliance is the starting position for every product, not an upsell or a paid module. Where a product cannot be made compliant, we don’t ship it.

  3. Documents over dashboards

Where a Word document, Excel workbook, or PDF does the job better than a web application, we ship a document or workbook. Format follows function. Most clinical work happens in offline files, in PDF attachments, in printed handovers; our products meet that reality rather than fighting it.

  4. No transformation theatre

We don’t use the words “revolutionise,” “transform,” or “disrupt.” We don’t promise paradigm shifts, AI agents, or end-to-end orchestration. We promise specific tools that solve specific problems, well. That’s the whole pitch.

B — The company

Operated by Novatib Ltd.

Portiko is operated by Novatib Ltd, a UK-registered company (company number 14234369), with a base in London. Novatib is the parent organisation behind a portfolio of healthcare-related products and services including VerifyMed (medical credentialing), MedScribe (clinical documentation), Ordim (multi-site CQC compliance), and consulting work in NHS procurement and clinical governance.

The Portiko brand exists specifically as the publishing house for our most self-contained, document-led products — the systems and tools that ship as standalone artefacts rather than as software services. The CESR Evidence System and GovernReady are the first two; more will follow.

We’re a small team. We work in close collaboration with practising clinicians, registered managers, and compliance professionals who use our products in their day-to-day work and tell us, with appreciated bluntness, when something isn’t good enough.
